Day 5

Today kicked off the next phase of knockout rounds with the Singles and Pairs being played today. We had players in both the Men’s Singles and Men’s Pairs representing MCC. In the Men’s Single we had Dan Mars playing Lance Bradshaw from Swanpool, but unfortunatley went down by one shot 18-19. Neville Wood-Bradley also made it through to the knockout round but also went the way of Dan, down 15-21 against Heath McLaren from Colac.

In the Men’s Pairs we had Brad Marron playing with Lee Schraner advancing through to the Semi Final to be played tomorrow night against Alan Donaldson and Peter Nixon. Good luck to Brad and Lee as they continue deep into the Men’s Pairs Final.

Day 4

Days 4 was the Mixed Pairs with Louise and Scott Mejean plus Taylah Rhodes and Brad Marron playing together as well as Dan Mars, Neville Wood-Bradley and Eve van Rhine playing with players from other clubs. Results to follow later on today.

While we had 5 of our players make it through to the first knockout round, unfortunatley none of our players made it through to the next round. A great effort by all players.

Day 3

Triples were in action of Day 3 of the Victoria Open and MCC had competitors in both the Men’s and Ladies competitions. It was a strong start to the day for the triple of  Dan Mars, Scott Mejean and Ben Winther who made it through to the knockout phase, but unfortunately went down by 1 shot in close battle in second round of the knockouts. The news wasn’t good for our other competitors who unfortunately didn’t make it through the Sectionals but represented the club very well; Louise Mejean, Fay Winther, Taylah Rhodes, Brad Marron and Neville Wood-Bradley.

Day 2 (Further Update)

Today saw the Men’s and Ladies Pairs in action up in the Goulburn Valley. It was great day for our Men’s pairings with all those from MCC getting through to the knockout rounds. Congratulations to Neville Wood-Bradley, Scott Mejean, Ben Winther, Gary Lasky, David Kinston, Dan Mars and Brad Marron. Unfortunately are Ladies pairs players didn’t fair as well, but gave it a great effort on the green. A further update was that Brad Marron and Neville Wood-Bradley have made it through to the Round of 16 in the Men’s Pairs with their respective partners. Good luck to both bowlers on Wednesday as they progress through.

Of these matches Dan Mars and Neville Wood-Bradley have made it through to the next stage of the knockouts on Wednesday.
