Vale Willis Gerard “Gerry” Teague

It is with great sadness that I advise of the passing of Gerry Teague. Gerry passed away peacefully last night at 9.00pm. Gerry was an ex Glenferrie Hill Recreation Club member who became a member of the Bowls Section in August 1999 when the two entities joined.

Gerry was a great clubman who undertook a number of roles including Treasurer and coach of the Ladies at Glen Street.

Condolences to his son Michael and other members of his family.

A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Gerry Teague is to be held at our Glen Street Clubrooms on Monday 27 May 2019 commencing at 2.00pm and all members who knew Gerry are welcome to attend this service.

  1. Paul Daniel

Vale. Such an absolutely delightful man. Remember him providing all of us with player names and numbers at the G when the AFL was trying to force everyone to buy the Record.

  2. Norm Hayes

You would never meet a kinder and more sincere gentleman than Gerry. We have great memories of time spent with him and Bev.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are truly sorry that we couldn’t full fill our promise to support him in the last season (2017 / 2018) we played with him.
Gerry you will be missed by all who knew you. Our love to the family.
    Norm & Yvonne Hayes

  3. Michael Teague

    To all at MCC Bowls,

I would just like to express the thanks of the Teague family to all involved in the tremendous celebration of Gerry’s life. From the moment I mentioned to Manny that Gerry had gone into palliative care, the club was nothing short of magnificent. The word went out to the bowls community and Gerry was able to receive the well wishes of many from the club with visits and phone calls. When Gerry passed and I requested the use of the Glen St clubrooms for a celebration, Manny, the response was 100% supportive. At a difficult time for us, the club organised everything from notifying members to arranging catering and people to help out.

We will be forever grateful for the club’s support and generosity. In particular Manny Galanos, Ian McKay, Reg Davis and Dan Mars, all true club men.

Thanks for giving Dad a send off he would have loved.

Michael Teague, on behalf of the full Teague family.
