Unfortunately last night Clayton were too strong for our Monday night side, winning the game and going into the Grand Final. Clayton will play Mentone (Wed) this Thursday at 5.30pm, so if you wish to see a good battle of bowls, head on down.
A big thank you to all of our members and others who played in all three of our sides at Southern Indoor this year. To get 2 teams into the final was an outstanding effort and the development of our newest and existing bowlers was very promising.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the Club this Saturday (29/8/15) for our Opening Day to begin the Summer Season.
Last night our Monday night and Tuesday night sides competed in the Quarter Finals of Southern Indoor Winter Pennant Competition. The Monday night side played against Burden Park and were successful in winning through to tonight’s Semi Final. The Tuesday night side unfortunately played out a tough game against Mentone but could not get through the next stage of the finals. A big thank you to everyone who played in this side throughout the season to get them into the finals.
The Monday night side will now play Clayton in the Semi Final to be held tonight (25th August) at Southern Indoor starting at 5.30pm. So if you can, get down and watch some excellent bowls. In the other Semi Final, Mentone (Mon) will play Mentone (Wed) for a spot in Thursday night Grand Final.
With the final round of the season almost complete, both our Monday and Tuesday night sides will finish top of their respective ladders. This means both will feature in the finals to be held next week.
As it currently stands (and is very unlikely to change) the sides will take to the green in the Quarter Final this coming Monday Night (24/8/2015) against:
MCC Monday Night vs Burden Park
MCC Tuesday Night vs Mentone Monday Night Side
Both games will begin at 5.30pm at Southern Indoor Bowls – 350 Hawthorn Road Caulfield South.
So if you’re keen to see both our sides battle it out, get down to Southern Indoor this coming Monday nights!
If successful the following finals games will be held on Tuesday and Thursday night of the same week.

With one round to go in the Southern Indoor Twilight Competition (Tom Watson Cup) both our Monday and Tuesday night sides sit atop each of their respective nights ladders (click here for full ladders). Unfortunately it hasn’t been the best of seasons for our other Monday Night side “The Glen”, but it has provided a great opportunity for some new and existing bowlers to gain valuable experience in different positions ahead of our upcoming Summer Pennant season.
This is a great effort by all who have participated in all our side so far this season.
